e two deal breakers with regards to salvaging a chart where the birth time was wrong are changes in sign and changes in sect. If any planet in the new chart is in a di erent sign than it was in the original chart, or if the sect of the chart has changed, you’re better o starting from scratch. Although the Moon in the 9 p.m. chart is almost 9 degrees away from the Moon in the 3:30 a.m. chart, it remains in Capricorn,
and none of the other planets changed signs. Of equal importance, there’s no change of sect: both charts are nocturnal. In the 3:30 a.m. chart, the Sun is below the horizon in the 2nd house, and in the 9 p.m. chart, the Sun is below the horizon in the 5th house.
Sondheim’s chart passes the rst test. ere’s a good chance that it will be less work to address what’s changed in the chart than it will be to start the interpretation over from scratch.

Since the Moon is always the most a ected by a time change, we’ll start there. As noted above, the di erence between the positions of the Moon
in the two charts is almost 9 degrees. Not only does this change all of the aspects involving the Moon, but it also changes the Moon’s Board of Directors.
In the 3:30 a.m. chart, the two key aspects to the Moon are a sextile to Mars in the 1st house (0a34) and a trine from Neptune in the 7th house (1s58). e conjunction with Saturn and Trine
to Chiron, while both applying, have orbs of greater than 7 degrees.
In the 9 p.m. chart, however, the conjunction with Saturn and trine from Chiron have orbs of less than
1 degree. Additionally, the Moon is now quincunx Jupiter (1s48), square Uranus in the 6th house (1s22), square Venus in the 6th house (0a27),
and in a wide opposition to Pluto in the 9th house (5a18).
