Even a minor time adjustment will change the angles and house cusps, but this is not as challenging as it appears.
Most astrologers focus on the house a planet occupies, but what matters most are the houses a planet rules. If the signs on the house cusps don’t change, it’s much easier to save the chart. e planets will rule the same areas of life as before, and you only need to adjust where the planet expresses if its house position changed. Even if the signs on the cusps have changed,
you mostly need to incorporate this information for the Moon and the planets on the Moon’s Board of Directors.
You’ll have to throw out any house-related notes, of course. If the signs on the house cusps have changed, any observations about money and career or the ability to move between the di erent relationship categories won’t be valid. But these types of questions are straight-forward and don’t require much e ort to answer.
Mostly, you will need to consider the new Ascendant, including any planets that aspect it with orbs of 2° or less. You will also need to consider the relationship between the new Ascendant (how the client presents to the world) and the Sun (the client’s authentic Self ).
But don’t sweat the small stuff.
When you’re developing interpretation skills by writing interpretations, a change in birth time is a much bigger hassle than when you’re working with a client in person.
When writing an interpretation or preparing notes for a consultation, the subtle di erences matter. Focusing on the speci cs helps you to understand the three-dimensional shape of each pattern. But when you sit down with the client, the details in your notes don’t matter. As the client tells their story, you look for the patterns and connect the appearance of the client with the essence of the chart.
As long as the client sees him or herself re ected in the chart, they will be happy with the consultation, and in the end, that’s the only thing that matters.
