Saturn: Trump’s natal Ascendant, natal Mars, natal Part of Fortune, progressed Sun, and progressed Venus. From mid November through the end of December, transiting Saturn in Scorpio formed squares to Mars, the Part of Fortune, the Ascendant, and progressed Sun and a semi-square to Trump’s progressed Venus. What makes these particular transits so critical is that while Saturn activated these points, they were also being triggered by Uranus and Pluto at the same time. is is a clear example of the rule of three.
NBC red Donald Trump from The Celebrity Apprentice on August 13, 2015.
Whatever Trump experienced during these transits pushed him into the political arena. is is when the seeds were planted. Two months later, shortly after NBC renewed e Celebrity Apprentice for another season,
Trump began to distance himself from the program, suggesting that he wasn’t ready to commit because he was considering running for president. Trump announced his candidacy on June 16, 2015, two days into his 2015 solar return cycle.
Solar Returns and Annual Profections
Solar returns can be interpreted from two di erent contexts. First, you can interpret the chart much as you would a horary question, and identify important events
that may unfold during the year. For this evaluation, you use a traditional, two-dimensional approach where
dignity and debility translate to “good” and “bad,” respectively.
But you can also view the return chart from a personal perspective, as an extension of the natal chart. e planets
in the return chart maintain their associations from the natal chart. For example, Venus rules Trump’s Tenth House in his natal chart, so it represents his public image, reputation, and career. No matter what role Venus plays in the solar return chart, it will still relate back to his public image and reputation, and the dignity or debility of Venus in the return chart will relate to the expression of his natal Tenth House during the year.
When working with solar returns from the personal perspective, I follow the guidelines presented in J. Lee Lehman’s book, Classical Solar Returns (Schi er Publishing, 2012). e return charts are calculated for the natal location, and they do not use precession. And the return chart must always be interpreted in concert with the natal chart, especially when evaluating the e ect of dignity or debility of the planets in the return chart. A debilitated planet in a solar return may not be a problem if the planet has a similar debility in the natal chart. is is especially important when considering retrograde planets in the solar return. If a planet is
