wants to live his life, then he must be worthy. But Trump also seeks validation through his celebrity. Worldwide media attention is a powerful drug.
Trump was already a television personality. His TV show e Apprentice received consistently good ratings, and in 2014, NBC announced plans to renew it for another season. What prompted Trump to give that up and instead run for president? And how will it all turn out?
To answer these questions, we need to enter the realm of predictive natal astrology.
Predictive Natal Astrology: The Rule of Three
Predictive natal astrology focuses on the individual birth chart. e potential of the birth chart unfolds over the course of a lifetime, and the various predictive techniques — including transits, progressions, directions, and return charts — reveal the timing.
It takes more than a transiting trine between Jupiter and Venus to win the lottery. For an event to happen, the potential of that event must exist in the birth chart. But more importantly, it takes more than a single trigger to activate that potential. When a pattern receives three or more triggers, that’s when you start to pay attention to it.
e rule of three has many applications. A planet could be triggered by three simultaneous transits from three di erent planets, or it could be triggered three times by the same planet over the course of a retrograde cycle. An aspect or connection between two planets might show up in a primary direction, a solar return, and then by transit or progression. We’ll see several examples of the rule of three as we explore Trump’s natal chart triggers.
Introduction to Primary Directions
Primary directions are similar to secondary progressions in that both track the movement of the planets after one’s birth and use a symbolic time scale to identify when the potential of the natal chart may unfold. e di erence is that secondary progressions use secondary motion (the longitudinal movement of the planets in the zodiac), while primary directions use primary motion (the rotation of the Earth).
In the hours following one’s birth, the Earth’s rotation will cause the planets in the sky to rise at the Ascendant, culminate at the Midheaven, and set at the Descendant.
is motion brings the directed planets into contact with the natal planets and activates the potential in the natal chart. One degree of primary motion (which
equals about four minutes of clock time) symbolically represents one year of life.
Let’s consider Trump’s Mars as an example. His natal Mars is rising, just a few degrees above the Ascendant. At the age of 20, directed Mars formed a conjunction with
